Allison Imre

Born and raised in Kansas City, KS by a mother from LA and a father from NJ • Often regaled by stories of my parents’ bi-coastal upbringing that created a hard-to-suppress wanderlust • Discovered my destiny for a career in communications at an early age, playing “radio” with family friend and veteran broadcaster Pete Gabriel • Landed a coveted position with the KC Royals, combining her two loves: broadcasting and sports • Lived in the Virgin Islands, on the Baja Peninsula, San Diego, New Orleans, Lake Tahoe and Colorado before settling in the area in 2004 • Paddleboarder, cancer survivor, snappy dresser and fantasy football champion.

I became the Owner/President /CEO of Grapevine Communications in April 2017 and have the privilege of leading this team of hard-working, creative-minded, forward thinking developers, designers, copywriters, social media masters, digital marketing gurus, media planning moguls, public relations pros who carefully curate and execute masterful campaigns locally, regionally and nationally to make an impact and get results.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My parents and siblings still live in Kansas City. I have extended family spread from Alaska to Baltimore. I’ve planted my flag here in the LWR region with my husband, David, a REALTOR with Michael Saunders & Co. David moved to the area from Connecticut when he was 8. Our son was born at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in 2014 and he’s the most spectacular tiny human ever!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I had a very comfortable career working with the largest media company in the country. When I became bored with and frustrated by the corporate world, I decided to risk everything and put every penny I had on the line, and with the support of my friends and family, take the calculated leap into entrepreneurship. I’ve never looked back. I may own Grapevine Communications but I’m only successful because of the 17 people who keep this well-oiled machine running. The talent and intelligence in this building will inspire anyone. My future is right here at Grapevine and hope that my son grows up to take the reins some day.

Angela Massaro Fain. She is fearless, funny, talented and unafraid.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Europe….the entire continent. I’d take months travelling, soaking in the history and culture and food and wine!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
This changes daily depending on my mood.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Plan your work and work your plan. Set your goal and get to work!

Skydiving!

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
Bruno Mars, Uptown Funk….always hits the spot

Daiquiri Deck on Siesta Key. When I first moved to town I’d spend every weekend there after the beach. Those moments are what made me fall in love with this town and paved the way for me to build a life here.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Bert Kreischer. We’d have lunch somewhere that serves alcohol, and I’d just laugh. It’s August 2020….I think everyone could use a little levity right now.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
Our community has the best of both worlds: small town attitude, care and consideration coupled with the culture and amenities found in a big city.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Exactly where I am right now but bigger, better and stronger. I am on the right path with the right people and I’d like to continue this journey of growth and success.

Lake Tahoe. When I lived there I actually snow skied and water skied in the same day!

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
October! Great weather AND I can buy candy corn. Christmas, it’s not the gift-giving or festivities, but the one time a year we’re guaranteed to have the entire family together from across the country. Best single day on the calendar is October 20th, the day my son was born.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
The team at Grapevine Communications. Our successes are celebrated together and our losses are endured together. You’ve never met a group of professionals so devoted to our clients and so supportive of one another.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My parents and my son. Every bit of my success I attribute to the two wonderful people who raised me to always work harder and be bold. My son inspires me to endeavor to leave a legacy he will be proud of (and hopefully carry on….no pressure.)
